The Chronicles of Akin

‘Okay, yes... sure... thank you... I will be expecting you. Bye.’ Shola dropped the phone. Akin was looking at him while he was receiving the call. He met him receiving call and has waited for almost two minutes. He didn’t know what Shola was discussing and who he was discussing with on the phone... He met him saying ‘okay, yes etc’. ‘That was my babe, Nike. You remember, she is a lawyer?’ Akin nodded. ‘She has agreed to take up your case and provide help’ Shola said. ‘Guy, I don’t know how I will thank you. I owe you my life. Once I’m out of this...’ ‘Padi mi,’ Shola cut him, ‘you don’t need that. What are friends for?’

The boys had planned that they will tell the court that while they were coming back from school, Akin just showed up in their front and requested for money from them. They gave him all the money they had because he was holding a cutlass. The wounded Akin did not have money but the criminal would not believe him. While Akin was searching the wounded boy’s pocket, Biodun attempted to snatch the cutlass from Akin but was unsuccessful and that led to struggle between the two. During the struggle for the cutlass, Akin successfully snatched the cutlass from Biodun and turned around to butcher the small Akin was hitting the criminal with stick from behind in order to save his friend. And that was when the whole incident turned to something else. The lie was perfectly ‘cooked’ and they all agreed with the plan.
