Book Review: Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne: The Bourne Legacy

Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne: The Bourne Legacy
When David Webb, a professor of linguistics at Georgetown University was setup and framed for the murder of a former CIA Agent, Alexander Conklin and a Psychiatrist Mo Panov, he was forced to take on his past personality… A man that just recovering from the torment of his past was forced to go back into it. He was trapped between being a professional linguistic and a professional assassin.

While Jason Bourne was trying to figure out the killers of his comrade, Alex Conklin. He ran into another setup – he was framed for the death of two popular scientists. In his quest to save his Webb’s personality, he ran into something even much more bigger than he thought. Alex Conklin left many mysteries to be unfolded.

The CIA and other security agencies all over the world are concerned – as far as they are concerned, Jason Bourne was a threat, and he must be neutralized. As a result, the entire force pooled their resources to find Bourne.

Meanwhile, while the CIA are busy with the Bourne’s issue, a terrorist organization under the control of Stepan Spalko, who to the whole world, is a Humanitarian  and Good Samaritan, under the disguise of his well known humanitarian organization known as ‘Humanitas’ was planning an attack by using the Chechen’s rebels.

The Chechen rebels, who in their own quest to gain power and throw of the yoke of Russian; have been blinded by their desire and at such, they couldn’t see what Spalko wanted to use them for.

So, the CIA and other security agencies have been kept busy with something else – to get rid of Jason Bourne. As a result, they were not aware of the impending danger.

Then, as Bourne runs for dear life, he came across someone in his past life… and this became another problem in its own entirety. He met a young assassin who claimed to be his long dead son – Joshua…

And yet, more mysteries unfolded…

****

This book is so much fantastic and awesome. It is an action thriller, full of suspense. It portrays how hatred, emotion, and love can affect one’s life. It also emphasizes on the bitterness of being neglected by your loved ones – especially the parental negligence.

In addition, it gave a view of a terrorist’s mind – to what length a desperate man can go to achieve whatever he wants to achieve.

The author has been able to put in picture, the type of trauma and depression a child undergoes when neglected by his/her parents. He also made clear how difficult it is for an abandoned child to learn to grow up on his own… How he is being used as cat-paw and how his life may be negatively affected.

Unlike the movie, the book gives much more details into real life than just a mere entertainment.

The actions, the thrills and the adventures; all made it to be even much more interesting.
