The Undiluted Faith

There lived in a small village a couple and their little girl. The husband and wife are gardners. They plant flowers of different varieties and sell them to make their living. They also have a small farm in which they cultivate for food products. Their little girl grew up to fall in love with flowers and she spends more time playing in the flower gardens than anywhere else. She admired the beauty of the flowers. She ponders over them and asks a lot of questions about them. She will say to her parents "Look at that Tulip, see how it was beautifully designed". The father will say, "that's how God designed them".  The couple loved their daughter very dearly and they teach her a lot of things and she helps her parents a lot.


One year, there was complete drought and there was no rain. The couples were worried that their flowers will die and also their food crops. They started fetching water from their well to water the flowers and their food crops. Soon, the water from the well reduced to zero level. The husband and wife started lamenting over the dry season and they hoped that rain will fall very soon.

The flowers were drying up, they started losing their colour. And the little girl asked her parent, "Dad, what is happening to the flowers?" The father reply, "Because there's no enough water to make them grow". She asked "why is there no water?" "Because God did not give us rain", said the father. The little girl said, "then let's ask God to give us rain". The father said nothing.

The following morning, the girl was excited and happy and jumping around. The mother asked, "sweetheart, can you tell me the reason why you're happy this morning". The girl replied, "rain will fall today!" The mother was surprised. She bent down and whisper to the girl, "darling, what makes you think so?" "Because I asked God to give us rain so that I will see my flowers again and I know He has heard me and He will do it." Said, the little girl.

The wife told the husband about it and they held on to the belief that rain will fall that day. Then it was noon, they anticipated the rain. It never fall. Then afternoon, nothing. Then comes the evening; the weather did not even look like it was going to rain. The little family sat down at their table to eat their dinner. The mother looked at their daughter, who's still happy and still believes that rain will fall that day. The mother said, "Baby, do you still think the rain will fall?". The little girl replied, "Today is not yet over". Then everybody ate their dinner. They went about their normal activities till it was time to go to bed. When the mother went to check-in on their girl in her room, she said, "Darling, are you still sure it's gonna rain today?". The girl asked, "what time is it by now". The mother checked the clock and replied "eight minutes to twelve". The girl smiled and said "today is not over yet". The mother said nothing but deep down inside her, she said "today is already over baby". And she said "good night, sweetheart".

When the mother went back to her husband room, they started discussing something else and they've forgotten all about the rain issue. Then suddenly, they heard something dropping on the roof of the house. Then they couldn't believe their ears. And it started raining heavily. The mother went to check the time and it was two minutes to twelve! They were surprise and amazed at the same time. They cherished the faith and believe of their little girl.

In the morning, the little girl woke up and saw water around. She knelt down and said "Dear God, thank you for the rain. Thank you for bringing back to me my precious flowers. Thank you for everything else". The father and mother too knelt down with her to praise and thank God.

Moral of the story: "Never doubt your God, because He answers prayers and the day will never be over when He answers your prayer..."
